Cheshire Moth Atlas (Online)

Improving access to invertebrate data and recording resources is a key aim of the Tanyptera Project. By supporting the production of invertebrate publications, we help make specialist knowledge and records more accessible, supporting future recording, research and conservation.

We worked with regional moth experts and the then VC58 moth recorders Steve Hind and Steve Holmes in 2017- 2018 to produce an online Cheshire Moth Atlas (Hind et al., 2018). The atlas is on the project website as a downloadable PDF containing tetrad (2km) resolution maps for all 1,506 moth species known to have been recorded in VC58 (Cheshire) alongside their most recently recorded year and a Cheshire status comment. In September 2017, the TRE created the Cheshire Moths Facebook Group.
